Environmental Law
Laquer, Urban, Clifford & Hodge, LLP litigates a wide
range of complex construction, environmental and land use
issues. These cases often involve some of today's most prevalent
environmental challenges, such as construction of alternative
energy sources, nuclear power plant siting and development,
and lead paint and toxic mold resolution.
With both depth and breadth of experience, we are well qualified
to guide clients through a mass of regulations and help them
work successfully with public agencies--two critical aspects
of environmental law cases. Clients include commercial, industrial
and residential developers; government entities; lenders;
investors; multi-employer trust funds; and private businesses.
Our extensive environmental law experience includes the
following representative areas of litigation:
- California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) — Working
to resolve complex CEQA litigation in disputes involving
large residential, educational and industrial projects.
- Hazardous materials — Guiding clients
through environmental transactions--both purchase and sale--in
cases relating to the federal “Superfund,” as
well as other matters involving contaminated property;
litigating these issues, when necessary, in state and federal
courts.
- Land use regulation — Providing representation
and counsel to government agencies, private businesses
and individuals who face complex land issues, such as land
use decisions involving development agreements, subdivision
map acts and constitutional issues.
